Many years ago ,there were big differences between the internal and foreign wearing apparel.Than we bought some nice clothes for us and for our children. Besides them we bought some practical consumer goods for our household and some souvenirs for us, for relatives and friends. At present we don't travel for shopping, we have to pay out a lot of money for entrance fee to different visited sights and objects, and buy souvenirs only.

What do I before the trip?

What do I before the trip? I'll see wath time vill be there. I'll make the check list for things I need. I carry 1-2 books and crosseword too. I check my passport, and credit card.I put into my suitcase the clothes and toiletries and a guidebook. I'm writing a list of things what I wannt to see.

I primarily bring my cards,

I primarily bring my cards, (ID, TB) passport, some money. Then I bring one-two books, dresses. It depends where do we go if we go to the sea I bring summer dresses rather, but to the mountains, I bring warmer dresses.

Napi kérdés

I' m first writing a list, what do I want to take with me. If this ready, I take out a suitcase, and I start to pack, in my suitcase according to the list. I pack toiletries, some dresses. It depends on where do we go, I pack pants, pullover, bathing dress, sun milk. If we go to the beach, I take with me the least dresses. But if we go to the mountains, we have to take more, and warmer dresses with us. When we go to a hotel, we have to take elegant dresses, because we have breakfast, and have dinner, too, there. I bring with me some medicine, and 1-2 books, too. Then I prepare my passport, personal card, and some money. I usually don't bring unnecessary things with me.

Before to begin packing for a trip I make a list of what I need on the trip. The list's length depends on the length of my trip. A few years ago I go only to my son in Transylvania. There lives the half part of my family: my son, my daughter in law and my two grandchildren. As usual, I take some gifts for them, most of all for my grandchildren. So, 3-4 weeks before my way I begin to think what they need and what they would love. For my grandson of 8 years old I need to get games. He likes very much lego which assambles cleverly and quickly. For my granddaughter of 16 years I get some clothes (as blouses or skirts , but I have to be careful because I'm afraid she doesn't likes what I like.) For both of them I got a lot of books, and sweets too. For all family I get any cosmetics (as face cream or deo for my daughter in law ), any vitamines for all of them. Because I usually cook for them when we are together, I bring them some interesting ingredients in paper-bags ( as Knorr or Maggi ),which I get here but can't get there, so my cooking is easier. That way, until I have to start, my travel bag will slowly fill up. My personal things, my clothes I put in my little suitcase on the last day before travelling. The weight of my luggage isn't problem, because my daughter or my son in law takes me to the bus station and at the end of the travel my son waits me.On my return ,I bring some attentiveness here too.

When we decide to travel to a foreign place,we at first get to know the sights of those places. We take out the guidebooks and read carefully what we should see, and then ,depending on how many days we have , we establish together a daily program. For example, 5 years ago we visited Andalusia ( Spain ).We were there for 9 days.We barrowed a car. Our hotel was in Calahonda. We saw a lot of beautiful places and things, as the Cathedral in Cordoba and the Alhambra (The Red Fort ) in Granada evoking the Islamic occupation of the country. We visited Marbella with the outdoor statues of Salvador Dali, the ancient city Ronda with it's wonderful rocks and bridges. One day we visited Gibraltar with it's beautiful rocks and interesting monkies, in the other day we were at a big zoo and saw a performance at a dolphinarium. In a few times we had a good bath in the Mediterranian sea.
Like this one ,on all our trips we want to make for us the most of memories.

Many years ago, when I and my husband were young, we went several times in Czechoslovakia, because my husband had an uncle there. Usually we walked together with our relatives, then it wasn't necessary to talk with strangers. If we had to speak yet,we spoke in Russian. We were once in Poland and there we also spoke in Russian (Slavik languages are similar). In that times almost everybody understood Russian. My husband and me learned at school the Russish language about 8 years. It seems easy enough for me, I had a good pronuntiation, I knew grammar, but my vocabulary was very little. If I had 3-4 month to exercise in Russian-speaking environment, I could speak Russish well. But it haven't happened so...
The Roumanian language I speak at native level.Because I lived in Roumania ( Transylvania ), I studied at Hungarian language school, but we had Roumanian lessons every day (6 days a week ),so I learned this language quite well, but my vocabulary was quite small. At first year of my university's studies we learned exclusively in Roumanian and I had many difficulties in understanding, it was necessary to large my vocabulary. It was hard a little, but it was successful, so at the end of first year I could speak Roumanian perfectly.
English - this is the language which I studied during all my long life.I began in high school for 4 years, later for two years at University ( this was for technical expressions), but these weren't enough for speaking well. During my lifetime I started learning English a few times but never untill to speak it well. When I went out with my family a few years ago, it wasn't necessary for me to speak with strangers, because all members of my family speak well English. If I had to say something in English, with a little effort I could understand what I had to say .

I usually look at the cities, or in the cities the museums, churches, and like these. But if we go to the beach, when I rest rather. I admire the sea, and I take a sunbathing. I go for a walk in the afternoon, and in the evening I enjoy the sunset. We go anywhere, I like to watch the landscape, and I like to know those people's life, who live there. Of course, this does not always succeed. There was when we were in Tatra, I delighted in the beauty of the mountains. By the way, I like mountains a lot, so I go or I went, (because I'm not going anywhere anymore) to the mountains rather. I can admire Bükk mountain from our window, and this is enough for me.

Napi kérdés

If we are traveling nowadays, I already try to use English. Formerly, when I didn't speak English, not at all, naturally I used Hungarian or pointed with my hands and my foot. So, it is much better now.

When my children were yang,we went to Lomnic in Chehoslovakia .We stayed in a hotel. In one room there were 6 people. It was from apr 31 to may 2, only 3 days. On may 1st we went to Polska -Morskie Oko. The winter come late. In this time was big snow, but the roads were clean. We went there by bus, then we walked. It was dangerous, exciting and nice. We walked long time in the snow, but the spectacle was wonderful.I never forget this.

We were with my daughters in Austria Yugoslavia .Czechoslovakia.

Because of my old age I travelled quite many times abroad. Not as often as I wanted, because when I was young and healthy, our family didn't have money enough and there were problems in obtaining of passports .Now I'm old and sick. Between these two periods of my life I was lucky enough to visit several European countries. At present I travel only for visiting my son and his family in Transylvania. But I like to "travel" on world's map and to watch films presenting different countries and tourist attractions of our wonderful world.

Napi kérdés

Yes, I have already been abroad more times and in more places. I was In the Czech Republic, in Italy in Slovakia, and I traveled through Austria when I was in Italy. I spent the most time in Italy, I stayed here for a week. I was in Velence, too, it was my big dream, and I traveled by a big ship. I saw gondolas and the Bridge of the Sighs. I wondered, how much doves there are in the Szent Márk square. So I was in many places, but I liked the most better Hungary, and Miskolc, which is my hometown.

Tegnapi kérdés

It is a simple answer for me. Naturally, Lillafüred. I was many places, I saw many nice mountains, rivers, lakes, but I always thought Waterfall in Lillafüred, the Palace Hotel, or lake Hámori the nicest of them. It's true, I live near Lillafüred in Miskolc, so I often see the beauty of this place. Lillafüred and the Bükk are always amazing, in Winter, in Summer, in Spring, and in the Fall.

I can't say that I've had so many places to visit in the course of my life. I admired the wonderful buildings of Budapest or Prague , the shocking hightness of Carpatian and Tatra Mountains, it was an unforgettable experience to go through the landscape and settlements of Andalusia-Spain. But I find the most beautiful memory the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. The innumerable smaller and bigger waterfalls in a marvellous environment have always remained in my mind's eye.

I usually go with my husband everywhere, but sometimes I go with my children. One reason is I don't like traveling alone, and another reason is, I like traveling with my family. Of course, happens it, I have to go somewhere alone, but it is rare. In all, I usually go with my husband everywhere.

Napi kérdés, márc.8.

It's not pleasant neither living, nor traveling alone. Everybody needs a fellow or a friend to discuss the life's problems or to appreciate the new places seen during the trips. When I was young and my husband was alive, we travelled with our two children together everywhere. After my husband's death I got a grave illness and I didn't travel for more than 10 years. After this period I moved to my daughter, were born my two granddaughters and for a few years we travelled together inland and abroad. Now I'm old and sick, so I can't travel with them ,just for short distances. Once or twice a year we go all of us with car to my son and his family in Transylvania. Other times I travel to them alone with a minibus .This trip needs 8-9 hours

When I was young I traveled

When I was young I traveled to Balaton, there was a student camp. In this time we went around the area whith my friends on foot and by bike. When I was in high school we traveled to Győr, Nagyvázsony, Sopron. These travels were wery fantastic because we were very young and we liked the life. When I started my work I dicided to travel abroad. I traveled to Italy, to Croatica. Later we traveled whit my husband and children in Hungary . We slept in tent and traveled by Trabant. We traveled by car, by bus, by plain abroad and we slept in hotel. We have been to Italy, France, Spain,Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria. Our dougter lives in Canada. We have visited them with my son. While we were waiting for the plane, we looked at London.

I have travelled to a lot of places during my life. When I attended primary school I usually travelled in Hungary. Later I was often with my friends in East Germany on summers. We worked there: we were picking strawberries. I was on round trip by bus in Europe twice. Since I got married I often travel whith my family to different country on summers: Croatia, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Transylvania,Germany, Bulgaria. We go skiing on winters to Slovakia, to Austria, to Italy, and we have been in France too. We had a lot of experiences. Before some years I was with my husband by car in the Baltics. We have a plan: we would like to travel outside of Europe on next years.

After I got married and had children, we visited some socialist states every other year.So we were in Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland and East Germany. At that time we didn't have money enough to stay for long time out, our trips were about 10-14 days. After the change of political regime it was changed my life too:my husband died,I got very ill, then was a very hard period of my life, so I couldn't even think about traveling. Later, 16 years ago I moved to my daughter in Budapest and traveled to some places together, like Croatia, Austria Spain. After my granddaughters grown up I couldn't travel with them, because they included in their trips excursions on foot and I didn't have strenght for them. It can be changing.I am not pride myself on this, but there is a book what I began to read about twenty years ago and I haven't finished it since then. This book was lended to me by a friend , and I think ,she forgot about this fact a long time ago. Anyway, this book is really interesting and special. It is about a russian composer, who was very successful at the end of eighteenth century. It was happened ,that he was died suddenly ,on the top of his successes, and this fact gave the reason to write this detective story. This is a fantazy,of cours. The name of the author is Dominique Fernandez. The title of the novel is Court of Honour (?) (=Becsületbíróság ) The famous composer ,the hero of the literature work isn't other than Tchaikovsky, himself. The story is happened in Saint Petersburg .The novel contains lots of detailed descriptions about this town.We can use these as a guide nowadays too. The novel is very fastidious ,it is pleasure to read, but we need concentration on reading very much. Therefore I became tired soon, and give up the reading in the middle of it.Although I recommend this book to everbody who really like reading. I red several other books last years ,of course, but this book is so memorable.

During my life I read a lot of interesting books. I relized I liked different kinds of literature at different stages of my life.(it's natural, I think so ). If I remember at 50 years old a book I liked very much at my age of 30 years ,I read it again, and after it's re-reading I didn't felt the initial enthusiasm. So I came to the conclusion it's not good reading books again, because the people change (as my person ),the times change,my thoughts, my values change...Every book is worth enjoying when you're reading it at first time. Last summer I read three very interesting books written by Charity Normann, a writer from New Zealand. She treats different problems of our time, as using the drogs and their consequences, or psychological problems in a family. It was difficult to put down until I finished them. The last book I read was by Frank McCourt: Angela's Ashes. It consisted of 3 volumes about the autobiography of the writer. He was born in a very poor Irish family, has a hard childhood, but he has the ambition to arrive in America. He realised his dream, in USA he worked and studied in the same time (as a child, he read a lot !!),and at last he became a teacher at an university and became writer too. Usually I select my books after the recomandation of my friends, or choose them in the library ( based on a brief description) by writers I have not known before.
